‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (ra) who said that Allah’s Messenger (saw) said:

“Actions are but by intentions and there is for every person only that which he intended. So he whose migration was for Allah and His Messenger, then his migration was for Allah and His Messenger, and he whose migration was to attain some worldly goal or to take a woman in marriage, then his migration was for that which he migrated.”

‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar said,

“Allah’s Apostle took hold of my shoulder and said, ‘Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler.”

The sub-narrator added: Ibn ‘Umar used to say,

“If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death.”

The Prophet said,

“There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the
Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it.  It will be said, ‘Where are those who used to observe fasts?’ They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it.”
